Portainer has partnered with canine.sh to bring the power of Portainer’s multi-cluster centralized management capability to Canine.

Canine is a self-hosted, lightweight, developer-friendly deployment UI built to take applications from source code to production. It automates the steps that usually slow teams down: generating Dockerfiles, building images, pushing them to container registries, and creating deployment manifests. Developers can focus on writing code while Canine handles the heavy lifting of packaging and preparing applications for Kubernetes.

Through this new integration, Canine gains the ability to deliver those applications directly into any Kubernetes environment managed by a customer’s Portainer instance; whether Dev, Test, or full Production. This means developers can move seamlessly from code commit through build and packaging into cluster deployment, while platform teams retain full visibility and governance through Portainer’s enterprise-grade control plane.

It’s important to note that Canine is still in the early stages of development. While it already has commercial users, it remains very much a work in progress. Portainer and Canine will be jointly shaping its future, with a strong focus on how it can best address the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) market and close the gap between developer productivity and enterprise operations.

The combined products result is a powerful combination: Canine provides the intuitive “source code to prod” experience developers crave, while Portainer ensures deployments are consistent, compliant, and centrally governed across any environment. Together, the two platforms create a unified path from developer intent to business outcome, without compromise.

The first version of the integration with Portainer is due Oct 1st, and expect ongoing innovations beyond that date.
