Managing storage is a challenge in any containerized environment but particularly within businesses and larger organizations with multiple applications and teams. One of the key things Portainer does is make the provisioning and management of storage very straightforward for everyone who touches it.
Portainer supports the creation of persistent volumes against either a local path on a Docker host, or a CIFS share, or a NFS mount.
Users can specify the maximum size of their requested volume when created. It allows the administrator to expand allocated capacity to their persistent volume. In addition, Portainer visually displays all volumes for a given backend storage type to show the allocated capacity.
